Impressive pictures reveal progress being made at £22m Bransbury Park project

Work is unfolding at Bransbury Park’s relocated play area as the multi-million pound project progresses.

Construction work at the Bransbury Park project, which will cost approximately £22m, has commenced with heavy duty machinery spotted operating at the relocated play area.

In the latest update, Portsmouth City Council confirmed its contractors, Reds Builders, have established their compound in the south-west corner, where they will create the play area, using rubber mulch and tiles.

The park, which will open next year when the project is complete, will feature a climbing frame, quiet areas, sensory elements and new planting.

Preparation work at the leisure centre site over the last few months has included the removal of four trees, pruning and the closure of the hard courts and astroturf court.

The council has previously said construction of the centre will start ‘soon’ with a date yet to be confirmed.

More updates to follow.
