Woman dies at scene despite efforts to save her

A woman in her 20s died at student accommodation despite efforts to save her.

Emergency crews battled to save the female after attending the block on Andover Road, Winchester, on Friday (May 29) before she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesperson said: "On the evening of Friday, May 29, officers attended student accommodation on Andover Road, Winchester after being called by the ambulance service who were treating a patient at the location.

"Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of paramedics, the patient, a woman aged in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been notified.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
