Woman found "unexpectedly" dead at address prompting large emergency response

A large emergency service response descended on a Hampshire street after a woman was “unexpectedly” found dead.

Police and paramedics attended the scene in Bishops Close, Totton, around 9.30am where a woman’s body was found.

A police spokesperson said: "At approximately 9.30am today, our South Central Ambulance Service partners made us aware of the death of a woman in her 80s at an address on Bishops Close, Totton.

"We attended the unexpected death and the woman’s next of kin have been notified. A file is being prepared for the coroner."

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
