Woman facing 'darkest moment' who was about to end life on M27 bridge thanks 'amazing' people who saved her
A woman facing her “darkest moment” who was about to end her life on an M27 bridge has thanked the “amazing” people who saved her, saying: “Because of you, I’m still here.”

She was talked round by the concerned helpers and pulled back over the bridge as emergency crews raced to the concern for welfare while traffic was held on the busy motorway.
Now the female, who wants to remain anonymous, has told The News she wants to thank the “amazing people that helped me”.
She said: “Yesterday, at one of my lowest moments, I very nearly ended my life over the M27. A few strangers came to help, they spoke to me, stayed with me, and chose to support me through something I couldn’t face alone.
“Thank you for pulling me over the bridge and making sure I was okay. In a moment of pure helplessness it felt like my only choice but I am already so thankful I was saved.
“There aren’t really words big enough to say thank you, but I hope you somehow know the impact you had. Your kindness, your patience, and your willingness to help a stranger meant everything.
“Because of you, I’m still here. You reminded me that even in the darkest moments, there are still people who care. Thank you for being those people, you’re all amazing. Please reach out if you need help, don’t let it get to this point.”
Stationary traffic was reported in both directions between junctions 8 and 9 with delays of around 30 minutes while the woman was persuaded not to end her life. A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson said on Monday: “We were called just before 4.15pm to concerns for the welfare of a woman on a bridge over the motorway.
“The woman was safely escorted from the bridge and has been taken into the care of the ambulance service.”
