Whiteley charity supporters raise funds by running, walking and cycling the circumference of the earth in 80 days
CHARITY supporters are working to travel around the world in 80 days to raise funds for good causes across the area.
While travelling is out of the question, a team of dedicated volunteers is working hard to run, walk or cycle the circumference of the earth.

This huge challenge, a combined effort from 42 people aiming to complete 24,901 miles, is the latest fundraising campaign by Whiteley-based charity the Eight Foundation.
Victoria Riggs, who manages the Eight Foundation which provides grants to good causes and individuals, said: ‘The reason we started this challenge was to raise much needed funds to be able to continue our support to our community.

‘Over the last year most charities, including ourselves, have seen such a decrease in their funding, with not being able to hold events which we rely so heavily on to raise funds, it’s been tough.’
However, this latest effort has already brought in more than £1,500, with the challenge still running until April 21, which will be 80 days since it began.
Participant Tracey Grimes said: ‘It’s been tough on the body, especially mine, which normally only walks 18 holes on a golf course.
‘The work that the Eight Foundation does in our community changes lives, I’ve seen it and I know how much it has really helped individuals and local charities.
‘They need help so they can continue this work , therefore I am very passionate about completing this challenge even if my body is saying no more!’
Husband Tom Grimes added: ‘During lockdown this has been a great way to raise money for the Eight Foundation, as well as doing something positive with my time.
‘It has got me back out on my bike and focusing on a challenge that will raise money for this amazing charity, who are unable to fundraise in their normal way.’
At 16 years old, Olivia Riggs-Flynn is one of the youngest supporters of the challenge.
Olivia, who hears about the foundation’s work through mum Victoria, said: ‘I'm really excited to see where and what the money we raise from this challenge will go towards.
‘This is what is keeping me going, knowing that we will be changing someone's life.’
