WATCH: Ferocious car fire with flames 'like molten lava' threatens properties
A video shows a ferocious car fire with flames “like molten lava” spilling out across a road and threatening nearby properties.
Firefighters are seen racing to put out the blaze on Southampton Road, Ringwood, on Friday morning (March 20). It is not known what caused the fire.
A video captures the dramatic scene close to the A31 as flames rip through the devastated vehicle and threaten to spread to nearby properties as a fence partially catches alight.
Chris Venables, owner of Venables Pianos, captured the incident from his nearby shop - with him revealing he thought the heat was “going to crack the showroom windows, it was so intense”.
He said: “The flames were just spilling like molten lava from the door onto the road, there were flames on the grass verge. The car was totally engulfed.
“The roof was on fire, there were flames coming out of every window and smoke coming out from under the bonnet.
“There were several more explosions over the next 15 minutes, there were huge plumes of smoke coming from the fire.”
