Universal credit and benefits to be paid early over Easter - here's how you could be affected
IF you receive universal credit or other kinds of benefits than you could be in line to be paid earlier over the Easter break.
The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced the changes to payment dates for the bank holiday weekend.

Easter Sunday will take place on April 12 this year – so Good Friday will be April 10 and Easter Monday is April 13.
Meaning if you were due to receive universal credit or any other type of benefit on either of the two bank holiday dates, this will now be changed.
And for some it could be good news – with payments arriving earlier than expected.
Here’s what you need to know about changes to benefits over Easter:
Universal credit
- If you are due to receive your payment on April 10 you will get it on April 9 instead
- If you are due to receive your payment on April 13 you will get it on April 9 instead
Tax credits
- If you are due to receive your payment on April 10 you will get it on April 9 instead
- If you are due to receive your payment on April 13 you will get it on April 9 instead
Child benefits
- If you are due to receive your payment on April 13 you will get it on April 9 instead
Will you be affected by the payment date changes?
