Portsmouth residents tried to find ways to cool off as the heatwave resulted in sultry conditions.

Temperatures in the city reached up to 24 degrees on Tuesday, June 25, according to the Met Office. However, in truth it felt much hotter at times with people trying to find ways to cool off in the sunny conditions.

People gathered by the sea front in the hope of a sea breeze or to take a dip in the sea. Meanwhile sun worshippers could be seen lining the beach by the Hot Walls and Clarence Pier to make the most of it while it lasts.
