A post on Facebook said: “Due to a water outage in the area, unfortunately we need to temporarily close to the ensure the health and safety of our visitors, staff and animals. We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause and we will of course post any updates as and when they arise.”

The issue has affected a number of properties in the PO9 Rowlands Castle and Havant area and is still ongoing.

The latest update from Portsmouth Water said: “We are aware that some of our customers in the locations above may be experiencing a loss of supply or low water pressure. This is due to a burst water main in Purbrook Way affecting the water pressures in the area. We are making arrangements to rezone the affected area which will bring in water from a neighbouring supply zone.
