Solent Coastguard rescue injured man on the Isle of Wight
AN INJURED man has had to be evacuated to safety from a ‘remote spot’ on the Isle of Wight.
The Coastguard assisted the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service in evacuating an injured casualty from the south of the island, close to Watershoot Bay near Niton.

The man is said to have been injured on a coastal path down to the bay.
Solent Coastguard were deployed at 2.30pm after receiving a request for assistance from paramedics.
It’s understood the casualty was enjoying a walk in the countryside when they became injured and needed medical assistance.
Coastguard officers stretchered the casualty across difficult terrain to the awaiting ambulance where paramedics then transported the patient to St Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight.
The incident took place at a time when people are being urged to stay at home and follow government regulations on social distancing.
