RSPCA seeks quiet home for 'fun-filled' Freddie the French bulldog

Meet Freddie

An affectionate French bulldog is on the hunt for a quiet home after being taken in by the RSPCA more than six months ago.

Two-year-old Freddie has been described as “fun-filled” and “very playful” with the people he trusts by the team at Stubbington Ark who have been caring for him following a change in circumstances at his previous home.

A spokesperson for the RSPCA Stubbington Ark said: “Freddie is nervous of new people and children and needs someone who can advocate for him and ensure a hands off approach at first.

“He is generally not reactive and can be calm near new people but prefers to only be handled by his close friends. An understanding of dog body language ideally with experience of French Bulldogs would be beneficial but you will also receive full support from our behaviourists on site as well. Any potential adopter will need to be prepared to meet Freddie multiple times before taking him home.”

He will need a quiter home as he finds it difficult to interact with new people. Freddie will also need access to a garden and he has not been toilet trained so his new owners should consistently support him while he learns.

Freddie is up to date with flea and worming treatment and his breathing has been assessed as being good for his breed. He does not need Boas surgery at this time but the Ark will provide further details to any potential adopters on how to care for his breed.

The adoption fee for Freddie is £220 - for more information, click here.
