Residents have been warned of the closure

A Havant road will be shut down this weekend for essential works with a gas provider saying: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience.”

This weekend (19 September), SGN will be carrying out essential work on the gas network in Emsworth Road to “help keep the gas flowing safely and reliably to local homes and businesses”.

SGN said in a statement: “To do this safely, we will need to close Emsworth Road at its junction with Netherfield Close. A clearly signed diversion route will be in place.”

During the closure there will be no through access for vehicles past the closure in either direction, vehicle access to properties will be maintained wherever possible and pedestrian and cycle access will remain available throughout the works.

Bus routes using Emsworth Road will be affected during the closure. Passengers are advised to contact their service provider for the latest information and any temporary changes to services.

SGN added: “We know these kinds of road closures can be disruptive and we’re sorry for any inconvenience they may cause. Our teams will be working as quickly and safely as possible to complete the work.

“We’d like to thank people for their patience and understanding while we carry out these essential works.”
