9. Portsmouth's 15 best ever nightclubs - Route 66
If this building looks familiar, that's because it is. Route 66 in Guildhall Walk, at number six on the list, is another former occupant of The Astoria. After Route 66, it was known as Pure - the frontage picture here. Photo: Sarah Standing

10. Portsmouth's 15 best ever nightclubs - Joanna's
So many of you voted for the eponymous Joanna's, in South Parade, Southsea, making it the first venue in our top five. Sadly, as pictured here, it was destroyed by fire in 2011. Photo: Paul Jacobs

11. Portsmouth's 15 best ever nightclubs - Nero's
At number four, Nero's. You told us you loved this club in the 1970s. Like many of its counterparts, it was located in South Parade, Southsea. Pictured is one of the club's queues in the 1970s. Photo: Contributed

12. Portsmouth's 15 best ever nightclubs - Mecca
If you were to travel back to Portsmouth in the 1960s or 70s, it is likely you would have put on your dancing shoes and gone to The Mecca in Arundel Street. You voted it Portsmouth's third best nightclub of all time. Photo: Contributed
