'Very emotional' Portsmouth woman becomes millionaire after 'life-changing' National Lottery win
She plans to go on a family holiday abroad and organise plenty of gatherings
A lucky woman from Portsmouth has become a millionaire.
The homemaker in her 60s bagged £1m from a £5 National Lottery scratch card. She turned a slice of good fortune - where she won £10 from two different scratch cards - into a huge cash prize after exchanging those earnings for the winning scratch card.

Speaking about the win, she said, “It's been overwhelming and even a little scary. I've felt very emotional at times, but I'm so very happy. To think a random choice of Scratchcard could change our lives like this - we still can't quite take it in. I can't wait to bring the whole family together to celebrate.”
The lucky winner, who asked to remain anonymous, plans to treat her family to a holiday abroad, along with plenty of gatherings filled with good food. Liz Styles, winners' advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said there is a 1 in 3.33 chance of winning a prize on each Millionaire Maker Scratchcard.
She added: “Congratulations to our lucky Portsmouth winner. What started as a couple of £5 wins turned into a truly life-changing £1M, all from a scratch card chosen at random We wish her and her family a wonderful holiday abroad and many happy gatherings together.”
Tickets can be bought via the National Lottery app, through the organisation’s website, or in retail shops.
