Portchester restaurant Ruby Chinese Takeaway receives a one star hygiene rating
A CHINESE takeaway in Portchester has been found to require ‘major improvement’ when it comes to food safety, according to inspectors.
Ruby Chinese Takeaway in 121 West Street, Portchester, was inspected by environmental health officers from Fareham Borough Council last month.
Inspectors found that the restaurant needed to improve its food handling hygiene, while its management of food safety required ‘major improvement’.
The restaurant had ‘muddled’ containers used for storing raw and ready to eat food, and a chef was found preparing raw chicken on a chopping board reserved for cooked meats.

Cleaning cloths and chopping boards were found to be in a poor condition.
The restaurant received a two star hygiene rating in March 2019. Food hygiene ratings in the UK are ranked from zero to five.
Ruby Chinese Takeaway was approached for comment.
