Man in 20s dies after crash close to M3 involving two lorries

A man in his 20s died after an early morning crash close to the M3 involving two lorries.

Police were called at 2.36am on Thursday morning to a report of a collision on the Spitfire Link Road, near junction 9 of the M3 where traffic was left queuing.

The force said: “A passenger in one of these lorries, a man in his 20s, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.”

A road closure was put in place from the M3 Junction 9 roundabout to the Spitfire Link Road roundabout to allow officers to deal with the incident. The closure was lifted on Thursday evening.

The force added: “As part of our investigation into this collision, we would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident, and anyone with relevant information or dash cam footage.”
