Emergency crews were seen in Western Parade around 9pm on Tuesday dealing with an incident.

One local said: “The police had the area barricaded and there were multiple fire trucks and responders climbing the scaffolding around the house.”

Now the fire service has said: “The call out was due to some scaffolding that had come loose in the wind. A crew from Southsea attended and put in place a footpath and road closure until the scaffolding company arrived and made the boards safe.”
