Fareham MP and attorney general Suella Braverman announces birth of baby girl
THE MP for Fareham and attorney general has announced the birth of her baby girl, as she becomes the first cabinet minister to go on maternity leave.
Suella Braverman welcomed to her family baby girl Gabriella on Sunday.

Gabriella is the MP’s second child, following the birth of her son, George, in July 2019.
Mrs Braverman said she was ‘extremely grateful’ for the well-wishes sent by residents across Fareham
She said: ‘My husband and I are extremely grateful for all the kind words and generosity we have received from local people in Fareham.
‘Huge thanks must also go to the wonderful NHS staff who supported us throughout.’
Mrs Braverman - who was appointed attorney general in February 2020 - is the first minister to take maternity leave.
It follows a change in legislation last month, allowing ministers to take the time off.
Her duties as attorney general will be taken up by Michael Ellis over the next six months.
She added: ‘While I will be seeing you all very shortly after my maternity leave, rest assured that it remains very much business as usual in the meantime – my team will continue to support you, while I will ensure that you are represented at a national level on legislation.’
During her leave, the MP’s Fareham parliamentary team will continue to deal with inquiries relating to casework or policy, as well as hosting monthly surgeries.
The Fareham MP will continues to vote in Parliament through a proxy voting system.
