Boy who drowned in lakes named as family says death leaves “unimaginable void"
The boy was last seen swimming in lakes before going missing
A 15-year-old boy who drowned in lakes has been named, with his death leaving an “unimaginable void in the lives of those around him".
The teenager, now named as Ire, went missing while swimming on Wednesday June 24 at Testwood Lakes in Totton.
His body was subsequently found, police announced on Saturday, with formal identification having taken place after his family were informed.

The family, who wish to remain anonymous, have now said the teenager's death has "left an unimaginable void in the lives of those around him". Thousands of pounds have been raised on GoFundMe to support his family and for his funeral.
Writing on the fundraiser, his friend Max Osman said: “We are heartbroken to share the loss of our friend, Ire, who tragically passed away at just 15 years old after a drowning accident.
“Ire was loved by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His passing has left an unimaginable void in the lives of those around him.
“We are raising funds to help support Ire’s family with funeral and memorial expenses during this incredibly difficult time. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will be deeply appreciated and will help ease some of the financial burden on his loved ones.
“Please keep Ire’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity.”
A police spokesperson previously said: "Officers searching for a missing 15-year-old boy who was last seen swimming in water at Testwood Lakes, including those from our Marine Unit, have sadly now located a body.
"The boy’s family have been informed, and formal identification has taken place. His family are being supported by specially trained officers. A file will be prepared for the coroner."
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust said: "We are profoundly saddened by the tragic incident at Testwood Lakes Nature Reserve.
"Our heartfelt condolences go to the boy’s family, friends and everybody affected. Testwood Lakes Nature Reserve remains closed to the public until further notice.
"We urge people to avoid the area – please do not attempt to visit the nature reserve at this time."
