Aldi announces new store in Waterlooville as part of expansion plans
New store could open in November
Aldi has revealed it is set to welcome a new store in Waterlooville as part of its ongoing expansion programme.
The announcement follows Aldi’s annual trading update earlier this week, when it outlined further investment in new stores, continued price cuts and more long-term agreements with British suppliers.

The supermarket, which currently has 1,092 stores, is continuing to invest in expanding its estate, bringing affordable groceries to even more communities across the UK.
The new Aldi store in Waterloo Park could open in late November, the company previously said. The Waterlooville store forms part of Aldi’s wider store expansion programme, with the retailer previously announcing plans to grow to 1,500 stores across the UK.
Giles Hurley, chief executive officer for Aldi UK and Ireland, said: “We’re working hard to make good food more affordable for every family – cutting prices on everyday essentials, signing long-term supplier agreements to help increase home-grown production, and continuing to bring affordable groceries to even more communities through our store opening programme.
“This is why more customers are buying more products at Aldi – our relentless focus on simple, everyday low prices and award-winning quality.”
The announcement coincides with the supermarket’s latest annual results, which saw turnover increase 5% to a record £19bn in the 12 months to 31 December 2025.
