Police are continuing to investigate a collision that took place on Wednesday, February 25, where a black Velocett motorbike and a grey Audi A3 collided on the southbound carriageway of the A32 at Kingsmead.
Both vehicles had been travelling behind a HGV prior to the collision, according to police officers.

The rider of the motorcycle, 80-year-old William Shaw from Gosport, suffered a serious head injury along with multiple other injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment, where he later died.
In the aftermath of his death, his family has issued a statement via Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
They said: “William was a much-loved father, brother and grandfather who will be very much sorely missed by family and friends.
“He was passionate about his love for vintage motorbikes and often went out to meet and ride with like-minded friends. William was a retired foreman boat builder who served his apprentice and worked at Camper and Nicholsons boatyard in Gosport, where his efforts led him to receiving the British Empire Medal. He was also a much respected and long-standing member of Hardway sailing club in Gosport.
“The family would like to acknowledge all the emergency services and medical staff who helped William. The family also ask that you respect their privacy at this time.”
