Motorcyclist weaving in traffic and tailgating on busy A road
A mum has slammed a "show off" motorcyclist who was weaving in and out of traffic, standing up, and tailgating cars.
Sam Carr, 36, said the man "came out of nowhere" as she was travelling from Chichester to Portsmouth, Hants, on the A27 near the Emsworth junction at 2.40pm on Wednesday (12/11).
The mum-of-two was going to collect her children from school when the biker - dressed all in black - zoomed up alongside her and began ducking in and out of the traffic.
Samantha, a project manager from Portsmouth, said: “I was just horrified!
“It was really really scary!
“I was so glad the kids weren’t in the car - for their safety but also because he’s not a good example for them.
“He was obviously showing off but it’s dangerous and not something to be proud of.
“It was a dull day and hard to see him in his black clothes.
“Motorcyclists like that are so unpredictable you don’t know who has and who hasn’t seen them.
“That stretch of road is notorious for accidents at any time of day: it’s so irresponsible to drive like that and puts others at risk.
“Insurance policies get more expensive if you need to make a claim even if it’s not your fault, so we’re all paying for drivers like that.”
Samantha was being driven by her mum, who doesn’t want to be named, so she began filming the biker on her phone.
She said: “He was so close to us that mum had to move to the left lane.
“He was just weaving in and out of the traffic and must have been going at 80 to 100 miles per hour.
"It was such a nightmare."
