King Charles III meets D-Day veterans at commemorative event in Southsea
King Charles III has visited Southsea today to honour the incredible bravery of D-Day veterans who fought in the Normandy Landings.
Accompanied by the Queen and the Prince of Wales, the King attended the Southsea D-Day 80th anniversary event this morning (June 5). The event welcomed live music performances, readings, tributes and speeches from veterans who fought in D-Day. The morning event took place between 11am and 1pm and the King took to the stage to speak about the bravery of the veterans that fought in the Normandy Landings, many of whom never made it home.

After the event, he spent time, alongside his wife and son, speaking to veterans and hearing about their experiences during the war. Rishi Sunak also met with the veterans.
