The viewing platform at Solent Airport in Lee-on-the-Solent has a safety fence around, with a sign instructing people not to climb it.

Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Sean Woodward, says that these parents are an '˜irresponsible few'.

He said: '˜It is quite astonishing that parents would put their children at risk by lifting them over the safety fence.

'˜The council wanted to provide unrestricted views of the airfield so removed the 12ft safety fence and replaced it with a lower one.

'˜It would be a great shame for the many people who now enjoy this area if the original fencing needs to be reinstated because of the actions of the irresponsible few.'
