In pictures: "Horrible" Jeremy Kyle arrives to give evidence at Steve Dymond inquest

Talk show host Jeremy Kyle has been pictured arriving to give evidence at the Steve Dymond inquest this morning (Thursday) – having been accused of being “horrible and rude” to the guest before his death.

Mr Kyle looked sombre as he arrived at Winchester Coroner’s Court holding an umbrella wearing a smart blue suit in pouring rain to face questions over the death of Mr Dymond. The Portsmouth man is believed to have taken his own life seven days after filming for the Jeremy Kyle Show in May 2019.

The 63-year-old had taken a lie detector test for the programme after being accused of cheating on his partner, Jane Callaghan, from Gosport.

The Jeremy Kyle Show was axed following the death of Mr Dymond and had been a popular addition to ITV’s daytime schedule since it started in 2005, turning Mr Kyle into a household name.

Ms Callaghan, giving evidence to the inquest on Tuesday, said Mr Kyle was “a bit rude” to Mr Dymond when he appeared on the show.

Asked if she had any concerns over Mr Kyle’s behaviour, she told the inquest: “Jeremy was a bit rude to Steve… about ‘didn’t trust him with a chocolate button’ and this was before the results. So yeah, he didn’t know Steve, didn’t know nothing about him, so it was a bit horrible.”

Mr Kyle, previously described as “person of interest” over Mr Dymond’s death, will have the chance to give his side of the story when he is questioned today.

Winchester Coroner’s Court has heard that Mr Dymond died at his home from a combination of morphine overdose and left ventricular hypertrophy in his heart.
