Hampshire toddler is best friends with Shetland pony

Watch the heartwarming moment a 14-month-old Hampshire toddler and a miniature Shetland pony share a special bond - in the family kitchen.

Mum Tamsin Hamilton, 31, captured the sweet interaction between her daughter, 14-month-old Lula, and the family’s six-year-old miniature Shetland pony, Simba, as she cooks in the kitchen and carries on her normal routine.

Filmed in March at their home in Netley Marsh, Hampshire, the video shows Simba - who usually lives in stables outside their garden - wandering freely around the kitchen, grazing on hay as he interacts with the tot.

Sitting in her high chair, Lula can be seen smiling as she pets Simba - giving him kisses and offering treats.

While Tamsin continues cooking - making sweetcorn pasta and raspberry pancakes - before the animal joins the rest of the household for dinner too.

Simba joined the family on November 21, 2025, as a gift for Lula’s first birthday the following month.

The pony is allowed to roam freely between the garden, stables, and house, forming a special bond with her daughter along the way.

One particularly charming moment shows Lula clapping as she hands the pony food - unfazed by Simba's taller and sturdier frame.

The clips are part of a series titled Lula & Simba’s Kitchen, with four episodes currently available on Tamsin's TikTok account.

The mum said: “He’s basically part of the family. He lives with us full time, enjoys playing fetch, and loves spending time in the yard with Lula and our dogs.”
