Lizzy, who lives in Shedfield, received support from Hampshire County Council’s Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme (HTAS) when she moved to the area in 2016.

She was given a free leisure card which allowed her to complete training sessions.

‘We’re proud she was supported by our scheme and that it’s played a part in her securing her place in the Olympic history books.’

HTAS provides athletes with grants for competition and travel costs, physiotherapy and sport science support.
