Intriguing mini 'cliffs' of shingle left on Southsea Beach as new sea defences take a battering

Southsea’s new sea defences have taken a battering after stormy weather hit the South Coast.

This left mini ‘cliffs’ of the shingle which has intrigued many beach goers who have headed down to Southsea today (January 24).

Work by the Southsea Coastal Scheme is still ongoing to create a new and enlarged beach, and when finished the usable area between the Pyramids and the Coffee Cup at Eastney will be doubled.
