“Clean Up Clanfield” campaign launched with community litter pick planned

“Clean Up Clanfield” campaign launched

Clanfield Centre and Clanfield Parish Council have launched “Clean Up Clanfield” – a campaign to help keep the village looking its best, starting with a community litter pick.

The campaign is about the community coming together to take pride in Clanfield and look after the place they call home, with litter-picking equipment provided, along with complimentary refreshments from the Centre’s Brewsters Café.

The first event takes place on Sunday, May 31, meeting at Clanfield Centre at 9.45am for a 10am start.

The campaign will continue with an “Adopt a Spot” initiative, giving people the chance to take care of an area of Clanfield. It could be a pathway, green space or roadside stretch – participants will be loaned equipment from the Clanfield Centre to help keep their chosen spot clean and cared for all year round.

Natasha Glover, Centre Manager at Clanfield Centre, said: “Keeping Clanfield looking its best is something we can all be proud of. This is a great opportunity to get outdoors, meet your neighbours, and make a visible difference together – one bag of litter at a time! We’d love to see as many people as possible join us.”

The Clean Up Clanfield campaign is part of wider improvements at Clanfield Centre, which is run by charity Community First. The Centre has recently secured a grant to install solar panels and other green upgrades, showing its commitment to looking after the local environment.

There’s no need to book for Clean Up Clanfield – just turn up and be ready to get stuck in!
