Astonishing progress of works to create new sea defences in front of Southsea Common is revealed
The astonishing progress of the works to create new sea defences, a new promenade and a new road layout in front of Southsea Common have been revealed in this astonishing new video.
Taken by The News’ Habibur Rahman, the video shows the latest progress with the prom which has most of its furniture in place, as well as the new one-way road which is almost complete, and the parking bays which are still to be painted.
Most of the new cycleway is also complete, as well as the new raised embankment to help protect the common from coastal flooding.
The area is expected to reopen to the public by the summer once the works by the Southsea Coastal Scheme are complete.
