'Emergency closures' on M3 with motorway shut overnight for 'urgent repairs' - when, times
Local authorities announced the decision earlier today
A major motorway has been closed for ‘urgent repairs’.
Winchester City Council announced that the M3 at junction 9 will be shut on certain days. The local authority said there will be “additional emergency closures” tonight (July 9) and tomorrow (July 10).
“Apologies for any inconvenience caused by these safety critical two additional closures,” they added.
The first closure is planned for the southbound route between junctions 8 and 9, from 8pm to 6am. The council said this was for emergency barrier repairs. They advised motorists to follow the signed diversion route, which can be found here.
The second closure will see the A34 at Three Maids Hill southbound, and the A33 southbound from the Cart and Horse junction, shut for emergency surfacing works. The overnight operation will take place from 8pm to 6am. The council said drivers should follow the signed diversion route, which can be seen here.
