Emergency incident at Southsea Model Village as dog becomes trapped in air vent
Fire crews have raced to Southsea Model Village this afternoon after a dog has become trapped in an air vent under one of the buildings.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has been spotted attending the site, in Eastney Esplanade, just after 2.15pm to rescue the trapped canine.
A post on the Southsea Model Village’s Facebook says: “We are currently dealing with an incident on site involving a dog that has become trapped in an air vent beneath one of our buildings.
“Unfortunately, a dog has entered the space and is now unable to get out on its own.”

The post explained that the opening could not previously be sealed off because it was believed to be an old fox den, and fire crews are now at the scene “to safely extract the dog.”
“The area has been secured to ensure everyone’s safety while this is handled by professionals.
“We will provide an update as soon as the dog has been safely recovered.”
