A child was rescued after getting stuck in the mud near Fareham.
They got into difficulties while playing in the Wicor area of Portchester last Friday (February 14). Personnel from the Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (GAFIRS) and HM Coastguard were deployed to make the rescue.

“Incidents involving anyone at risk always bring an immediate and determined response from our crews — but when that person is a child, it sharpens the focus even more.
“The crew pulled together, prepared for a challenging extraction, but were relieved to find such a positive outcome. A great result and excellent work by our search and rescue colleagues at Hill Head.”
