A27 reopens between Emsworth and Chichester after a vehicle fire

The A27 has been reopened following a vehicle fire which prompted a day-long closure.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue were on the scene of the fire on the A27 westbound, between the Emsworth junction and the Fishbourne roundabout, at Chichester, after the blaze broke out last night at around 9pm (Monday, October 13).

This led to its closure while repairs took place - causing tailbacks on the diversion route via the A259 and on the eastbound A27 earlier today.

However it has reopened this evening (October 14) in time for the evening rush hour.
