Dragon Fitness launches inaugural fitness competition to bring community together through wellness
New fitness competition launched
Fitness is being taken to another level as a launches a new outdoor competition which will put people’s endurance to the test.
Dragon Fitness, in Southbourne, is bringing a new competition - The Dragon’s Trial - to the fitness scene on Sunday, October 11 at Bourne Leisure. The outdoor functional competition, which has been organised by Dragon Fitness owners, Phil and Christina, will feature individual, same-sex pairs and mixed-sex pairs competitions.

Christina said: "We've run a couple of competitions ourselves for our clients and really enjoyed the atmosphere. But when you look at the bigger functional fitness competitions, people are often travelling to Bristol, London, Birmingham or further afield. We thought, why not bring one here?
"We want people to come along, challenge themselves and have a great day. You don't have to be an elite athlete to take part. It's about seeing what you can do and enjoying the experience."
After launching in 2021, Dragon Fitness has secured a loyal following of wellness enthusiasts through its mixture of indoor and outdoor fitness classes and bootcamps based out of venues including Bourne Leisure, Westbourne and Fishbourne.
The Dragon's Trial, which is open to everyone, will feature a mixture of functional fitness movements designed to test strength, conditioning and endurance, with competitors able to choose between individual and pairs categories.
Organisers expect 50 competitors to take part in the debut event but the competition has capacity for up to 150 athletes. The organisers say the aim is not simply to create a serious sporting competition, but also to produce an energetic and welcoming community event.
