Sunken wreck near HMS Warrior in Portsmouth as seafarers warned to 'navigate the area with caution'

An alert was made by the King’s Harbour Master

A fishing boat has sunk near HMS Warrior with mariners advised to proceed with caution.

The King’s Harbour Master issued an alert that a ship wreck was discovered last night at around 7.30pm. They said a small day fishing boat with a cuddy had sunk 20 metres right astern of the famous Royal Navy ship at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

“The wreck is on the seabed and is not marked,” they added. “Mariners are to navigate the area with caution and report further sightings or information to Portsmouth VTS on VHF Ch11.”

The Royal Navy and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard have been approached for further details.
