The jump took place while the Queen Elizabeth-class carrier was alongside the Princess Royal Jetty. A trio of parachutists jumped from a light aircraft onto the warship. Smoke from flares could be seen as they descended.

The King’s Harbour Master implemented an exclusion zone for all vessels, with Ministry of Defence Police enforcing the exclusion zone. It’s understood the personnel jumped from between 11,000 and 13,000 feet.

HMS Queen Elizabeth has been in Portsmouth since April 27, returning from the Rosyth dry dock in Scotland following an extensive period of maintenance. Her sister ship, HMS Prince of Wales, is currently in the vicinity of Scotland.
