Remembrance Sunday: 36 thoughtful and unifying pictures as Gosport honours lost loved ones at service

The people of Gosport gathered to remember those who lost their lives in conflicts around the world.

Military personnel and civilians flocked to Gosport War Memorial Hospital in Bury Road this morning (November 9).

An armed guard assigned to the Royal Navy base HMS Sultan led the parade, which was joined by scouts, cadets, and members of other organisations.

Gosport Solent Brass played wartime songs, with a Bugler sounding The Last Post and Reveille. Everyone was determined to reflect and honour those who perished in the First World War, Second World War, and other conflicts while serving our country.

Wreaths were laid at the memorial, with a march past then taking place in front of the hospital. Dignitaries saluted the personnel as they headed away from the parade. Here are 36 pictures of today’s ceremony.
