Gun Salute will welcome home HMS Prince of Wales as she returns home to Portsmouth after deployment
The Royal Navy’s flagship will carry out a 17-gun salute this afternoon (Sunday, November 30) to mark its return home to Portsmouth.
The King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth has issued a notice confirming that HMS Prince of Wales will begin the ceremonial salute as she transits north from Outer Spit Buoy (OSB) at around 12.30pm on her inbound passage toward the War Memorial, Southsea seafront. The last gunshot should be heard at around 12.45pm.
During the ceremonial salute a dynamic exclusion zone of 300 metres will be in place around the ship in all directions for all marine traffic - with tugs also escorting her in as usual.
The flagship left Portsmouth in April for an Indo-Pacific deployment. For all the latest, follow our blog here.
