Cheerful crowds thoroughly enjoyed Armed Forces Day in Portsmouth.
Hundreds of families, personnel, and veterans, descended on Southsea Common on June 20. A colourful parade took place involving serving members of the tri-services, junior field gun teams, cadets, veterans, pipe and drum bands, and other dignitaries.
The public were extensively thanked for showing their support for the military. Many flocked onto the common itself for a historic Portsmouth100 photograph to be taken, honouring the centenary of the city status.
Cloudy conditions disrupted the Airbus satellite, but the iconic images were made by a Solent Sky Services drone. Residents cheered and waved at the sky on command, and gave rounds of applause to the guests involved in the parade.
Here are 65 pictures from the day itself. The majority of images are available to purchase should you wish to do so on our Photosales section, or you can call 0330 403 0033 or email [email protected].
