Undercover police operation sees arrests for shoplifting and vehicle crime
An undercover police operation in the city has seen a number of people arrested for shoplifting and vehicle crime.
This week, officers carried out a planned undercover operation along London Road and Kingston Road to target shoplifting and vehicle-related offences in the area, with plain clothes officers, supported by uniformed colleagues and local retailers, identifying and detaining multiple suspects.

Portsmouth Police said: “This forms part of our continued commitment to reducing crime, supporting businesses, and keeping our community safe.
“We will continue to deploy both visible and covert patrols, using a range of tactics to identify offenders, disrupt criminal activity, and protect the public. Thank you to the community and local businesses for their ongoing support.
“If you witness suspicious behaviour or have information about crime in your area, please contact us via 101 or online. Always dial 999 in an emergency.”
