Trio of Havant shoplifters jailed for a combined 21 different offences
“All three offenders were arrested together,” say police.
A trio of shoplifters from Havant have been thrown behind bars after committing almost two dozen offences.
Police officers in the town have been working alongside UK Partners Against Crime (UKPAC) in the seemingly perpetual war on crime against retail, hospitality and rural businesses. Specifically in Havant, retailers were being targeted by multiple shoplifters.
But after tracking down the suspects, three people have now been jailed in court.
Rebecca Goodchild, 29, was convicted for six shoplifting offences, and seven breaches of a criminal behaviour order. She was initially sentenced to two weeks in custody, but has been recalled further by probation services.
Simon Clements, 37, was convicted of seven shoplifting offences, and jailed for three months.
Vicky Attrell, who pleaded guilty to eight counts of shoplifting, was sentenced to 20 weeks in custody.
A spokesperson for Havant Police said: “Three prolific shoplifters have been brought before the courts following coordinated work between neighbourhood teams and UKPAC.
“All three offenders were arrested together thanks to the proactive work from our colleagues in the district policing team. This action reflects our ongoing commitment to tackling repeat offending and protecting local businesses.”
