Tributes paid to 'one in a billion' Hampshire dad killed in car crash on Winchester Road
THE family of a man killed on a Hampshire road have paid tribute to a ‘devoted father, loving husband and son’ following his death in a crash.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, Phillip Hindmarsh, 62, of Bishopstoke, was pronounced dead at the scene after his grey Nissan Leaf was involved in a crash on the B2177 Winchester Road north of Bishop’s Waltham.
A statement released from his children said: ‘Phillip, a man that simply cannot be captured in words, an enormous loss to so many whose hearts he touched.
‘He was ‘Big Phil’ to some, The Cat Man to many, but to us he was just simply Daddy Bear. The hole in our hearts will never be filled but the legacy you leave will never be forgotten.’

The family described Phil as being ‘never too busy to stop, talk, and listen to anyone and everyone, offering kind words and advice to those in need’.
Giving an insight into into the popular family man’s character, they added: ‘He was a man who had all the time in the world yet still managed to be late for everything – an inspiration, a legend, one in a billion.’
The fatal crash took place at 6.10pm on Saturday, May 30 while Phil was driving near Upham.

Officers are still investigating the exact circumstances of the collision and are keen to hear from anyone they have not yet spoken with who may have information.
Anyone who can help the police investigation is urged to call 101 and quote reference 44200192554.
