Travellers leave overflowing rubbish bags, burned grass and a bicycle behind from Waterlooville encampment
Travellers arrived in the area last week.
Overflowing rubbish, bicycles and burned-out grass have all been left behind by travellers in Waterlooville.
As previously reported by The News, a group of travellers arrived on a small grassy area near Waterlooville’s town centre, on Thursday, July 2. Their camp, in the Berewood Estate off Hambledon Road, soon expanded to more than 20 vehicles.

On Thursday, July 8, it was confirmed that the travellers have since moved on - although will likely be moving to another location nearby.
A spokesperson for Grainger, the company that owns the land, said: “I can confirm they have now gone and the site is clear. We will carry out any necessary clean up works before continuing with the development programme.”
Unfortunately for the company, it looks like they have quite the clean-up job on their hands.

Photographs sent to The News show the extent of the rubbish left behind by the group of travellers, who have thrown overflowing rubbish bags into the bushes, and torched patches of grass.
One image even shows a bicycle that has been left behind.
