The youth is facing two counts of causing death by dangerous driving following an incident on the B3035 Corhampton Lane on February 2.

He was 17 when the crash occurred, having passed his driving test not long before.

It is alleged Kempster caused a car to crash into motorcyclists Andrew Cuthbert, a 58-year-old engineer from Bishop’s Waltham, and Gary Groves, 62, from Southampton.

Wearing a black coat and jeans, Kempster, of Church Lane, West Meon, spoke only to confirm his name and address.

He entered no plea and was bailed to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on December 7.
