Suspected drug driver arrested after crash
A suspected drug driver has been arrested after a crash in Fareham causing “significant traffic”.
Drivers were warned to avoid Newgate Lane and surrounding areas by Gosport MP Dame Caroline Dinenage after police closed the road. “There is significant traffic building up so please avoid the area if you can,” the MP said.

Now the force has said the closure was due to a crash - with a man arrested. A spokesperson said: “We were called at 2.23pm to a collision on Newgate Lane involving two cars. Minor injuries were reported.
“A 33-year-old man from Gosport was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.”
AA Traffic News said: “Road closed and queueing traffic due to multi-vehicle crash on B3385 Newgate Lane East both ways from Speedfields Park to B3334 Gosport Road (Peel Common Roundabout).”
