Southsea man found not guilty of stalking police and crime commissioner
A Southsea man has been found not guilty of stalking the police and crime commissioner.

Robert Hood, 59, of Kingsley Road, appeared at Swindon Crown Court for trial after being charged with stalking crime commissioner Donna Jones.
A police spokesperson previously said of the matter: “We can confirm that Robert Hood was charged on 13 September 2025 with one offence of stalking involving serious alarm or distress contrary that took place between 6 September and 13 September 2025 in Portsmouth.”
Hood, who denied the charge, has now been found not guilty after the trial.
For a separate matter involving Ms Jones, Hood was previously jailed last September for 20 weeks for harassment without violence between March 4 and June 6 in 2024. He appealed the conviction but this was dismissed by a judge in February at Swindon Crown Court.
Ms Jones said she was “pleased the court has given me the protection of a restraining order” and was “pleased the judge dismissed Hood’s appeal on his harassment conviction”.
