Various items of stolen property were recovered with searches also made

A man has been arrested after expensive and desirable items were stolen from a car in Southsea.

The 18-year-old from Southsea was detained for various offences, with police also carrying out searches at an address. Officers were initially called on the evening of May 11, with reports regarding a theft from a car that afternoon in Worsley Road, Southsea.

Several items were stolen including a Tag Heuer watch, Apple AirPods, and a wallet stuffed full of cash and bank cards. They were recovered by officers this week.

A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson said the male was arrested at an address in Southsea on May 17. “At this time police seized some suspected stolen property,” they added.

“The man was arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle, fraud by false representation (in relation to alleged use of stolen bank cards) and possession of Class A drugs. He was bailed for these offences until August 17 while further enquiries are conducted.”
