Portsmouth woman's stolen car now found - with suspect's ID inside
Suspect leaves ID and items in stolen car
A woman whose car was stolen from outside her Portsmouth house says it has now been found - with a suspect’s identification inside.
Hannah Riley praised the “power of social media” after “lowlifes” stole her turquoise Volkswagen Up from Amberley Road, Hilsea, at about 2.30am on Sunday (May 17).

The victim took to Facebook for help to find the vehicle, with it now having been located. However, curiously the car now has a gym bag and a man’s driving licence and trade card.
Hannah wrote, in an updated post, that her “car has been found” with her thanking everyone who shared her original post. And in a warning to the suspect, she said she would be handing over the items she found to police.
She added: “There were also items in there that weren't mine, unfortunately nothing of value or the tools that were stolen from Locarno Road.”
The vehicle owner then gave the name and address of a man whose details were found in the car. “His ID and possibly a gym bag are going to be with the police as they were in my car. Driving licence, trade card,” she wrote.
“Thank you to the power of social media and to all the many lovely people. I hope these lowlife's are found.”
A police spokesperson said: “Officers are investigating after a car was stolen from Amberley Road, Portsmouth. The vehicle, a turquoise VW Up, was taken at around 2.30am on the morning of Sunday, May 17.”
