Portsmouth man denies attempting to murder and cause wife grievous bodily harm
A man has denied attempting to murder and causing his wife grievous bodily harm when appearing in court.

Paul Watts, 35, appeared before Portsmouth Crown Court charged with attempting to murder 37-year-old Emma Watts in Cinderford Close, Paulsgrove, who was airlifted to hospital on Thursday October 31 around 3pm.
Watts has also now been charged with grievous bodily harm since an appearance before magistrates in November.
The victim was taken to Southampton General Hospital in a critical condition. It is understood she was put in an induced coma.
During the hearing, Watts denied both charges with the case sent for a trial on March 17. He was remanded in custody.
A police statement said previously: “We were called to Cinderford Close in Portsmouth on Thursday following an incident where concerns were raised for a 37-year-old woman.
“The woman remains at Southampton General Hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening, injuries.”
